Still plan to post more of this, but due to contract deadlines i didn't expect, i'm probably not going to make it in time for the contest, oh well. Nice to see people are enjoying this though, i promise to add more content here in the fall.

The Rise and Fall of it All: Learning to just be

by salgood

Everyone

Summary

A story about those of us who find ourselves on the out side of society and of ourselves. Elliot, 40 something & directionless, relegated to the dreariness of data entry. Laid off, again.

With the bubble burst and inertia setting in, Elliot finds himself spending more and more time on the streets of Chicago. Seeking out the music and company of an Ishmaelite horn player.

Unlike Elliot, Elmo is of the street, of the land. His Houselessness is of choice; that of life on his terms and his timetable. He chooses freedom over the material world.

Crossing paths these two find friendship & truths in each other's company and new purpose in their dreams.

This project was started with Jazz man John OBrien. Shelved for a while there but utilizing the Fabler contest as an excuse to get back to it. Goal; add 10 to the existing 15 pages by Sept. If you like, comments are appreciated, please do favorite & share with your fiends!
